“I’ve been thinking of getting eyelash extensions for a while, but I’m not sure if they will suit me…”

This is a question I get asked A LOT and I totally understand your uncertainty! We’ve all been there when you apply your false lashes and suddenly you feel like a camel! – Not good!

HOWEVER…

Lash Extensions are often much more natural than false strip lashes. This is because a classic set of lash extensions are applied in a one-to-one style, meaning one false lash is applied to one natural lash – resulting in an equal amount of false lashes to natural ones. This gives a more natural look than that of strip lashes where it can be double or even triple the amount of lashes!

Your lash technician will choose an appropriate length and thickness of lashes to apply, based on the natural length and thickness of your lashes. Generally they will follow the pattern of your lashes and have the added benefit of adding length/thickness to those places that need it! Ultimately, this gives you the most natural, flattering look, still whilst creating a fuller, more defined look and causing no damage to the natural lash.

If you’re wanting lashes for an event, say a holiday/wedding etc. I would recommend having a trial run to see if you like them. At least this means if you do decide lash extensions aren’t for you, you will know in plenty of time to have them correctly removed! (Do not pull or pick lashes out! You will ruin your own ones! See my lash aftercare post for correct removal procedure!)

It is SO important to talk to your lash technician before you have them done, have a proper consultation and tell them exactly what you want, or what you are worried about. This way you can create the perfect end result together.

Make sure you understand about any possible allergic reactions, listen to the advice given and most importantly follow all aftercare given to you. I recommend taking a look at my other post on patch testing and lash aftercare.
